A Study On Mechanism Of Collaborative Innovation Based On Innovation Cluster

Since21st century, traditional innovation model has become increasingly prominent of its limitations with the economic globalization and the growing complexity of knowledge innovation. The generation of new technology also requires the integration of different realms of knowledge. Any enterprise cannot create innovation in a completely isolated way. They need to enhance interaction and cooperation with external organizations to improve their innovation performance. Innovation cluster, as a special organizational form of innovation, can promote the development of local economy or even national economy greatly and it is also crucial for the improvement of competitiveness and performance of enterprises in it. The paper focuses on the issue of collaborative innovation based on innovation cluster, using case study to explore in depth the complex process of enterprises’ collaborative innovation based on innovation cluster through the typical case of Huawei Technologies Company limited. On the basis of it, the paper establishes a reasonable analytical framework; thereby it can enrich and deepen the theoretical research of innovation cluster and collaborative innovation.The paper discusses the collaborative innovation process of Huawei with the combination of case study and grounded theory. First, it reviews the concerned researches of international and domestic academics. The paper collates main theories and views, and then briefly comments the contributions they have made and issues needed to be addressed. A detailed description of research design is presented. A scientific research design can improve the reliability and validity of the conclusion of the case study, therefore the paper discusses the scientificalness of this study from four aspects of research methods, case selection, data collection and data analysis strategy. In the next part, it shows the data analysis process based on grounded theory. Initial categories derive from the open coding of data, and then we use canonical model to axial code these initial categories to get the main categories. On that basis, the selective coding is taken to find the core category and to clarify the story line. After that, the paper analyzes and explains the research findings through citing case-study materials, and then systematically reviews the mechanism of collaborative innovation based on innovation cluster. Finally, a theoretical framework of collaborative innovation based on innovation cluster is presented. At last, in the conclusions section, the paper shows the conclusions drawn from the case study and in view of the above proposes the research limitations as well as possible future research directions.
