| Purchasing Management is an important link in business development, and hasbecome the important component of enterprise strategy management. For a processingmanufacturing enterprise,50%-85%income is used for purchasing material andservices. So purchasing cost control is the key to survival and development ofenterprise. Auto parts industry is a typical manufacturing industry, the living space ofwhich is compressed gradually because of the vehicle market competition. The higherproject management and quality requirements are necessary in auto industry. A highefficient and low cost supply chain system must be built in the project developmentphase. Thus, the early intervention of purchasing management in new productdevelopment phase of intervention is very necessary.Based on multinational auto parts company Pangeo, this paper analyses theproblem of purchasing management in the new product development project, takingthe new product development project of Roller Bar of an OEM Auto company inNorth America as the research subject. The targeted modifications are proposed,implemented and verified, including that project members cooperates withsubcontractors; choosing right material by VA/VE; Developing suppliers accordingwith projects and products requires; Achieving win-win cooperation throughnegotiations based on price comparison and price analysis of the supplier’s quotation;Optimizing the supply chain to reduce the purchasing cost; Optimizing inventoryturnover to the hilt by improving the inventory management and logisticsmanagement.Through the study of the above content, it is explained that purchasing is veryimportant in the new product development project and makes an importantcontribution to enterprise competitiveness, profitability and customer satisfaction. Atthe same time, management methods and management experience used in this paperhave the certain reference value and guiding role in management and purchasingmanagement of new product development project of auto parts industry. |
