The Study On The Tourism Development And Protection Of The Ancient Town Taierzhuang

The development of cultural tourism is in full swing now in China. Cultural tourism notonly combines cultural heritage protection and tourism together, but also promotes thedevelopment of tourism economy and modern service industry. However, the problem of tourismexceeds protection exists in cultural heritage sites now. We have to find a way to solve thecontradictory relationship between tourism and cultural heritage protection. Actually, only basedon protection that culture heritage site can develop tourism sustainably.The deep historical culture of Taierzhuang originated during Han dynasty, developed inQing dynasty and boomed in Ming and Qing dynasties. Emperor Kangxi had praised that thescenery of Taierzhuang was as beautiful as yangtze river delta. Emperor Qianlong conferred thetitle of the Finest Town in the World on it. In the spring of1938, Taierzhuang Battle made thisancient town famous all over the world but also turned it into ruins. As the onlyresource-exhausted city in the east，Zaozhuang chose cultural tourism as a breakthrough in citytransition,and put the tourism development of Taierhchuang as a force in the development ofcultural tourism. Party committee and municipal government of Zaozhuang made a decision torestore the ancient town of Taierzhuang in2008. It opened to public in May1,2010. So far，ithad welcomed4.4million tourists，and became National5A in2012. It brought a rapiddevelopment of tourism in Zaozhuang, created a new mode of tourism development for theresource-exhausted city, that is“government fosters market，market drives consumption,consumption promots investment, investment pushes transformation”.By describing the general situation the ancient town of Taierzhuang, including its naturalgeographical conditions, this text analyses its cultural characteristics, and estimate the uniquecultural value of the ancient town of Taierzhuang. By describing the current situation ofprotection and developing of this cultural heritage, as well as questionnaire survey of its coreattraction, we can make deep analysis of achievement and problems of protective tourismdevelopment, so as to find an equilibrium point of between protection and tourism development.Economic benefit and social benefit can be unified and continued only in conditions ofprotecting the ancient town of Taierzhuang. At the same time, we make SWOT Analysis on itstourism development, which is based on inner advantage and disadvantage as well as outeropportunities and challenges. We insist that pioneering developmental strategy should be put touse on the ancient town of Taierzhuang. And a principle Strong Quality, Nice Image, NotedBrand, Classified Development should be followed, by which tourist industry of the ancient town of Taierzhuang will quickly take off and the ancient town would become famous touristattraction both at home and abroad.Through the case study of protective tourism development in the old city Taierzhuang, somepersonal suggestions can be made to transform resource-based city, better deal with therelationship between cultural heritages conservation and development, develop the culturalheritages on the basis of protection and boost the development of tourism and service industry.
