Study On The Evolutionary Mechanisms Of Overseas Investment Of China’s Mining Enterprises

Economic globalization has brought along mining industry globalization and alsoaggravated the competition for them by international society. Mineral resources are ofgreat significance for China’s economic and social development. China has taken partin the activities of exploiting and utilizing overseas mineral resources. Meanwhile,there are many problems to be solved about the overseas investment activities ofChina’s mining enterprises. It is necessary to study on the evolutionary mechanism ofoverseas investments of China’s resources enterprises.Based on The theory of international direct investment and OrganizationalEcology, this paper discusses the evolutionary mechanism of overseas investments byChina’s resources enterprises, draws the conclusions and comes with therecommendations. The methodology of the article includes induction, deduction,cases and data analysis methods. The main idea of the analysis for the evolutionarymechanism of overseas investments by China’s resources enterprises is as follows:First of all, the paper set up an analytical framework for the evolution ofoverseas investments. Based on the target of explanation how the overseasinvestments of China’s resources enterprises develop and what it has been turn into,the paper made basic assumptions, defines the basic concepts and breaks down themechanism into “practice mechanism”,“searching and learning mechanism”,“environmental selection mechanism”. Regard the three sub-mechanisms run once inorder as a complete evolution.Secondly, based on the framework for the evolution of overseas investments thepaper analyzes the three sub-mechanisms. The main idea is as follows:(1) Expoundthe concept of the practice, knowledge and environment of overseas investments;(2)Analyze the formation, composition and function of the three sub-mechanisms ofoverseas investments of China’s single resources enterprise;(3) Analyze theevolutionary mechanism of overseas investments of China’s resources enterprisesformed by the effect of interaction between enterprises under the guidance ofgovernment;(4) Analyze the current situation of the “practice mechanisms”, the put in of the “searching and learning mechanism” and the “environmental selectionmechanism” of the overseas investment.Thirdly, the paper put forward a comprehensive analysis of the evolutionarymechanism of overseas investments of China’s resources enterprises, which makes itmore close to reality. It includes the reduction of theoretical analysis, the case studyand the trend analysis.Finally, the paper draws the conclusion and advances related recommendations.The conclusion is: the evolutionary mechanism of overseas investments of China’sresources enterprises is formed by two ways. One is formed by the effect ofinteraction between enterprises and interaction between enterprise and industry underthe guidance of government based on the evolutionary mechanism of overseasinvestments of China’s single resources enterprise. The other is formed by the threesub-mechanisms of overseas investments of China’s resources enterprises. Therecommendations are:(1) Enhance the ability of “searching and learning” of overseasinvestment of our resources enterprises;(2) Enhance the ability of adapt to theinvestment environment of our resources enterprises.
