Inbound tourism had become an important part of the tourism of a country and state, playing a significant role in promoting national and regional economic development. As for Tourist destination, inbound tourism market is the lifeblood of tourism businesses and tourism destination development, grasping the trend of inbound tourism market timely and accurately, means a lot to promote the healthy and stable development of tourist destinations.Preference scale and attraction can better reveal the dynamic change trend of regional inbound tourism, providing useful references for policy formulation and adjustment of inbound tourism, opening up inbound tourism market. The thesis collected the number of inbound tourism in Chongqing of main inbound source countries (regions), the foreign exchange earnings in tourism, total population and Per capita GDP of main source countries (regions),the distance between Chongqing and the main inbound source countries (regions) and other data from2000-2010,calculating the preference scale of main inbound tourism markets and attractiveness of Chongqing to inbound travelers in Chongqing from2000-2010. Results indicate that:the inbound preference market of Chongqing mainly distributed in Europe and America, while the non-preference tourist market mainly distributed in Asia, around China; Chongqing’s attraction to main resource countries had a trend of waving increase; the tourist receipts is the result of interaction between preference scale and Chongqing’s attraction to main source countries. In view of the analysis conclusion, the article proposed the measures of carrying on publicity and marketing of overseas travel positively, Subdividing markets, Improving tourism facilities and something else, which will provide some positive references for the formulation and adjustment of inbound tourism policy, promoting the healthy development of inbound tourism in Chongqing.
