Research On Development Models Of National Geoparks’ Popular Sciencetourism In China

The Geopark is a unique natural area, based on special geological scientific significance, rare natural properties of high aesthetic ornamental value, with a certain size and distribution range of geological heritage landscape as the main body, and integrating of other natural and cultural landscapes. You can improve the understanding of tourists and the environmental protection and the scientific knowledge, deepen the connotation of tourism, rich the travel content, and improve tourism quality, at the same time create conditions for the development of local economy.Implementation of the popular science tourism development in the Geopark can protect geological heritage resources and the popularization of science, but also promote the development of the local economy. Therefore, a scientific and reasonable development for popular science tourism development of national Geopark is of great significance.This paper,firstly analyses the number and type of geological heritage resources, the earth science literacy activities andthe regional economic conditions, and the level of education, then puts forward the way to develop the geological popular science tourism in the Geopark, including local science education,teaching practice and tourists science education. Finally, it raises the awareness of earth science by analyzing the feasibility of three development modes, and putting forward a series of scientific and rational science education activities.The Wansheng National Geoparkis a representative of the kind of national Geopark with its abundant geological heritage tourism resources.Also,its viewing value and science education and ecological valueare very prominent. This paper proposed the approach to develop the Wansheng National Geoparkthroughout the investigations on the Geopark and the scientific evaluation of the geological heritage resource value and the degree of cognitive of the visitors.Firstly,it can be used to local science education for primary and secondary school students. As the second classroom, summer camp and geological science education base, it will increase students’interest in learning. Secondly,it can be used toteach practice forcollege students by practical teaching and research base. Finally, carrying out science educationfor ordinary tourists by daily popular science tourism is very important.Because Geopark has a unique landscape forms and science education significance, it can combine the learning of scientific knowledge with tourism and enhance the scientific literacy of the tourists.
