Research On Development Of Geoparks' Popular Science Tourism Based On The Tourist Demand

With the booming development of modern tourism,the total market demand of tourism exhibits some characteristics of differentiation,complication and individuation.As a new form of scenic spot,popular science travel which includes knowledge,aesthetic,recreation and experience can better satisfy the tourist's diversified tour demands.Geopark is the primary nature reserve which can satisfy this demands and its nature and resource conditions determines that it is a perfect place for developing popular science travel and popularizing knowledge in earth science.Therefore,the development models of popular science travel which can both satisfy tourist's demand and show geological characteristic is of great significance for the popular science travel of Geopark.This paper researches on the popular science tourism of Zengcheng Provincial Geopark in Guanzhou based on the angle of the tour demands.Firstly,this paper analyzes and summarizes the concepts and theories about tour demand,geological park and Geopark popular science tourism,and describes the overview of the Zengcheng Provincial Geopark.Secondly,it makes a questionnaire of tourism demand and perception for carrying out popular science tour of Zengcheng Provincial Geopark,and uses mathematical statistical analysis to analyze the survey results via SPSS 19.0 and Excel software and then we understand and analyze the tourists' demands and perceptions.Last,based on the analysis results and combined with the Geopark's own features,this paper suggests several strategies for developing popular science tour of Zengcheng Provincial Geopark: Giving priority to the way of popular science tour and combining other tourism forms with popular science tour;Strengthening building and improving the interpretation system of Geopark to satisfy tourists ‘a one-stop experience';Intensifying popularization of popular science to enhance public perception and consciousness of protecting environment;Segmenting tourist source market and using differentiated marketing strategy;Improving the protection and development of the popular science tour to promote activities of popular science.
