This paper is to analyze western China’s urbanization related to industrialstructure, and is mainly to analyze the following questions:1) to calculate differentindustrial sector’s contribution for economic development;2) to analyze theinfluences of SO2and CO2emission reduction when adjust industrial structure;3) toexplore the suitable mode for Qinghai province’s urbanization. For answering the issues above, the paper is organized as follows:Chapter one and two describe the background, the objective, and the technicalroadmap, make a definition for “urbanization” and “industrial structure”, and describethe relationship between urbanization and industrial structure and a brief review aboutprevious study on the development of urbanization.Chapter three and four analyze the current situation in western China’surbanization, and describe their features, the gap between eastern China and westernChina, the problems of developing urbanization in western China. Then, introducedthe research method-input and out table.Chapter five is to calculate different industrial sector’s contribution for economicdevelopment, and to analyze the influences of SO2and CO2emission reduction whenadjust industrial structure.Chapter six and seven are to explore the suitable mode for Qinghai province’surbanization, and based on the previous study puts forward the policy suggestions forfuture urbanization in western China.Through research we found that, for one thing, the secondary industry has madebiggest contribution on economic development, and the second is the tertiary industry. The primary industry has made a small contribution on economic development. Foranother, different economic sector has different contribution on economicdevelopment. Specifically, service industry, construction industry and manufacturingplay the key role in the development of economy in Qinghai province. Production andsupply of electric power-heat, production and supply of water, production and supply of electric power-heat-gas and services are responsible for SO2emission. Whileproduction and supply of electric power-heat, production and supply of water, production and supply of electric power-heat-gas, services and gas miningdepartments are guilty for CO2emission.Our results suggest that it is necessary to incorporate long term, green industrialdevelopment into urban development strategy in Qinghai province. As long as itsfragile ecosystem is concerned, sustainable development would always been givenhigh priority.
