With the rapid economic development, the extent of the damage of the greenhouse gasemissions on the environment are constantly exacerbated, environmental problems caused byenergy consumption attract more and more concern of the society. China accounted for29%ofglobal carbon emissions in2011, but as a big manufacturing country,China close to30%of theworld’s emissions related to other countries,products, The continuous expansion of the export tradeis the driving factor of increase of carbon emissions. As the energy province, the major exportcommodities of Shanxi are coal, coke, stainless steel and metal magnesium, and all of them areproducts of high energy consumption, high pollution and high emissions and have caused greatdamage to the ecological environment. In order to promote the export trade of Shanxi developcontinually, healthy and stably, we must adjust export trade structure reasonably, select appropriateexport strategy and develop low-carbon export trade.In this paper, through the analysis of the domestic and foreign scholars,research, the authorsummarized a draw: International trade is an important factor in energy use and carbon dioxideemissions. But existing research ignored the link between sustainable development and optimizationof the structure of export trade. This article will focus on the perspective in Shanxi to optimize thestructure of export trade and to adapt to the development trend of the global low-carbon economy.By describing the present situation of Shanxi province, the paper analyzes the inadequaciesof Shanxi export commodity in Low-carbon perspective. The export structure of Shanxi provinceturning to low carbon faces serious challenges and various opportunities. The challenges includes:the energy problem,environmental issues, economic and technical problems and the systemproblem. And favorable conditions includes: good economic,social and cultural environment,rich clean energy, the establishment of the comprehensive reform pilot area, domestic policysupport,and the driving role of the clean development mechanism. Through multiple empiricalanalysis on Shanxi’s export trade structure, we can get such conclusions: industrial structure areimportant factors of export trade structure which have a significant positive effect; now Shanxi’sindustrial and technological progress cannot promote export trade structure optimization andupgrading, technology investments caused by trade transformation inhibit export expansion, but inthe long run technological progress is the main driving force to promote the export structureoptimized. Environmental protection on Chinese export trade structure optimization has a positivelypromote role. This article proposes countermeasures about turning export structure of Shanxiprovince to low carbon. The main factors are to improve the technical level, optimize the industrial structure, and perfect green financial mechanism and the fiscal and tax policy.
