China and the United States as the world’s largest developed and developing countries, trade between China after the reform and opening up the rapid development, but there were not ignored that the China-US trade imbalance. In addition to its long-term and healthy development of bilateral trade, but also reflects some deep-rooted problems of the economic structure of the two countries, the development mode. China-US trade imbalance have a negative impact on a range of issues on China’s domestic economic restructuring, upgrade, and is one of the important reasons for before and after the financial crisis caused by the China-US trade friction intensified. In the post-crisis era, to re-examine the issue of China-US trade imbalance, are important for the healthy development of China’s foreign trade and domestic economic transformation and upgrading.This article through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis to study the reasons for the China-US trade imbalance between the two sides and the imbalance according of the development of China-US trade. Outwardly China to obtain a long-term surplus has huge foreign exchange reserves, in fact, economic development over-reliance on the United States and other overseas markets do harm to improving the welfare of Chinese residents and the long-term stable development of China’s economy. There are five reasons about China-US trade imbalance between long-term:First, the international industrial transfer and multinational companies investing in China; Second, The U.S. export controls on high-tech products; Third, Chinese export-oriented development model and the high consumption in the United States; Fourth, the lower degree of openness in the service industries of China; Fifth, international trade statistics factors. Financial crisis has impacting on China-US trade and influences the factors of bilateral-trade imbalance. The rising cost of China’s manufacturing industry in the new round of global industrial transfer; U.S. authorities to promote exports rose for the national strategy and continue to suppress in China; rules of the international trade statistics also tend to be more reasonable. Changes in these factors will have new influences in China-US trade imbalance. Although there is an easing trend in China-US trade imbalance, it will exist for a long time range. Goods trade surplus is the main reason of the China-US trade surplus will remain in the post-crisis era, China-US trade imbalance will continue leading to more trade friction.It is very important to have a comprehensive understanding and dialectical view of China-US trade imbalance. The problem of China-US trade imbalances is an economic issue, but also a philosophical issue, we need not only a dialectical perspective, but also the development vision in different stages. Ultimately, the trade imbalance between the two countries is a manifestation of their domestic economic problems. Only through continuous optimization of the industrial structure, continuous improving the capability of independent innovation and further expand domestic demand, can China achieve long-term and stable development of the domestic economy and have a fundamental solution to the problem of China-US trade imbalances.
