This paper was intended for assembly manufacturing of discrete manufacturingenterprises. After the basic theory of Just in Time (JIT) and Business ProcessManagement (BPM) was introduced, the paper carried out a system of JIT pullproduction in assembly manufacturing of discrete manufacturing enterprises, andprocess optimization of job shop in factory. It was good for reducing the inventory ofWork-In-Process, lowering costs of production and improving the overall efficiencyof production.On the other hand, the assembly process is market-oriented. The inventory ofWork-In-Process in this process directly affects the stock of product and the control ofthe beat in entire manufacturing process. To this end, the paper established aneffective WIP-control-model based on the process optimization of factory (workshop).It’s an important means of enterprises to achieve JIT production.The paper took engineering machinery manufacturing enterprise as an example,and focused on its process management of loader assembly lines. The businessprocess of workshop was optimized based on JIT-BPM framework, and the way toestablish an effective WIP-control-model was explored on this basis. In the end, thepaper put forward a production process control system, which took the model as a tool,and discussed the effect of its practical application and the value of its promoting.In this paper, the main results are as follows:(1) Based on the status analysis of manufacturing process management andcommon problems in engineering machinery manufacturing enterprises, a JIT-BPMintegration framework was put forward and applied on assembly production processes.It demonstrated that production processes were continuously improved by theframework with the way of modeling, implementation, analysis and optimization.(2) The paper took loader assembly lines of the enterprise as a prototype, andbuilt a WIP-control-model based on JIT-BPM integration framework. It proposed that WIP control should include inventory control, quality control, tracking andmonitoring of WIP.(3) The performance of production system in the enterprise was contrasted beforeand after process optimization. Concerning the JIT-BPM integration framework andthe WIP-control-model for discrete assembly manufacturing in this paper, it showedeffects of application and value of promotion.
