Research On Evaluating Supplier Of Chinese General Assembly Manufacturing Enterprises Of Rail Transportation

General assembly manufacturing enterprises of rail transportation isthe pillar industry of the national economy, and it is an important sign forthe development of a country. General assembly manufacturingenterprises of rail transportation is a kind of very complicated and specialproducts which is generally made up of tens of thousands of parts, butmost of these components are provided by the supplier. Each generalassembly manufacturing enterprises of rail transportation has a largenumber of component suppliers. Their performance has a direct affect inmany aspects, such as the quality of general assembly manufacturingenterprises of rail transportation, the product design, the delivery,inventory levels, customer satisfaction. The evaluation and selection ofsuppliers are becoming one of the main strategic concerns of generalassembly manufacturing enterprises of rail transportation.Firstly, this paper discussed the research background and pointed outthe urgency and necessity of studying the choice of supplier andevaluation of general assembly manufacturing enterprises of railtransportation in China, then made a review of relevant researches.Secondly, based on the literature and field survey, the authoroutlined the characteristics of general assembly manufacturing enterprisesof rail transportation products in China, such as demand-side single, andspare parts for the products mainly in non-standard and expoundedexisting problems of Chinese general assembly manufacturing enterprisesof rail transportation in terms of supplier selection and evaluation, and thecauses of these problems are analyzed.Thirdly, this paper focused on the features of general assemblymanufacturing enterprises of rail transportation in China. The six kinds, manage capacity, performance, productivity, corporate reputation,prospects and the long-term potential for cooperation are selected to builda general assembly manufacturing enterprises of rail transportationsupplier evaluation system, which contents34indicators. It alsoexplained the connotation of each indicator, access methods of indexvalue and normalization process.Further, on the basis of the evaluation system introduced in thechapter three, CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., LTD as anexample, specific processes by using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process toselection vendor are discussed. The results show that the evaluationsystem not only can provide enterprises with good suppliers, but also canhelp businesses to find out supplier comparative advantages anddisadvantages, which provide the basis for supplier management.Finally, the main contents of this paper are summarized and severaldirections for future research are provided.
