Site selection is the decision-making activity which is of basic, strategic and critical. The site selection directly relates to the construction investment of the enterprise, construction period and the economic benefits after the commissioning. It also has the profound influence on the development and utilization of natural resources and the environmental protection. This work has a strong policy consideration and requires high technical and economical, especially important to the large-scale mine.Pingguo karst accumulation bauxite is a kind of peculiar bauxite deposits in South China, and the ore block is uneven, extremely distributed, low continuity, fragmentary, and it has large economic benefits. Further, bauxite contains mainly diaspore bauxite with middling concentration of bauxite, low concentration of Si and high concentration of Fe. In the research on the optimization of the site selection, not only the mining stopes and selected scenes are considered to be matched and the plant sites need to be determined, and also ore blending strategy of the poor and rich ores on collocation and extending server years of bauxite mines are to be implemented. Ultimately, then maximization of economic benefit are realized. Above all is nearly vacant at home and abroad. Relying on operational research, logistic plan and systems engineering, plant site selection and blending strategy are macroscopically considered to develop optimization model of mixed integer-programming and get solutions by Xpress-MP software, meanwhile resources plan and site optimizing plan is also achieved in five diggings of Pingguo mine. Those main results are as follows:(1) In this paper, the significance, assignment, characteristic and the basic principles of the site selection are described in detail, the relevant factors of site selection are analyzed, the basic procedures of site selection are summarized.(2) The paper introduces the related site selection quantitatively and qualitatively optimization methods, including gravity method, endpoint comparison method, mathematical programming method and scheme comparison method, and characteristics of each method are analyzed and compared, the theoretical foundation of ore matching system optimization study for pingguo bauxite mine is established.(3) The research on site selection of the Pingguo accumulated bauxite, can turn into the logistics network planning problem, namely the matching problem of location, transport, production and demand. The research involves many outlets (mine stope) and many requirements (concentrator), this paper puts forward the application of logistics network planning theories and build mixed integer number programming model, this method can solve ore matching and site selection of comprehensive optimization for bauxite mine, have a considerable guiding significance to the mining.(4) The paper takes Jiaomei mining areas of Pingguo bauxite as the example, utilizes the mathematical theoretics of logistic plan and operational research in research, macroscopically consideres the site selection and blending strategy, establishes optimization model of mixed integer-programming, and the solutions are got by Xpress-MP software.(5) Combined with the practical situation of Xinan and Guohua mining areas of Pingguo bauxite, using the method of scheme comparison, the paper makes research on the schemes for constructing factories for xinan and guohua individually or in united type.
