Finite Element Analysis Of Positive Displacement Motor’s Dangerous Components

Nowadays the Positive Displacement Motor(PDM) is a kind of ordinary tools during oil drilling. It’s the most important that to ensure the security capability of a PDM. At present, the life of internal PDM is less than the life of overseas products. According to the actual things, the life of PDM is lie on these special components. For security, it is needed to provide a deep analysis to these components and to find the key of problems. We also see some articles about PDM, in these articles most content is to analyze the effect to drill orientation, but almost not have seen articles about these special dangerous components. In this paper, with the method of finite element and a lot of experiments, these components who easy to make troubles are studied, and have been done much intensity analysis, that is good for the factories to improve their products’security target.First, there have much of analysis about PDM development and state today in this paper. And also according to a certain company’s product-7LZ172x7.0single bend PDM which is used a great lot in Changqing oil field, summarized these dangerous components by the numbers.Next,3D models were designed with3D software for the first time; it’s the precondition to analyze PDM’s structure under the force. On the basis of actual experience, those components who do not affect PDM’s life and security capability are ignored; in this way the key to solve the problem is clearer.Moreover, this paper make lots of models of PDM itself and its’some dangerous components use finite element method. And also analyzed all the dangerous components in PDM, these work has active meaning to improve PDM’s design level.
