Wool embroidered carpet is feel soft, bright color, rich and colorful designs, thick intexture, not easy to ageing and fades and so on. so, wool embroidered carpets are moreand more popularise, they are widely used in home, hotel, meeting rooms, and otherimportant place. Pile naps of embroidered carpet which is made of half worsted woolcapet yarns are high, After a heavy load, it will leave a mark in the blanket face, affectthe appearance of the wool embroidered carpe. This paper is mainly about themodification of half worsted wool carpet.This paper determines a test method of stiffness about wool carpet yarns, andmakes a test devices; then gets the conditions of testing stiffness through anorthogonal test. Wool carpet yarns are modified by the finishing liquid which is madeby Polyacrylic acid ester and some other additives. Through the single factor analysistest to get roughly value range of the factors, and get the tendency of each factorinfluence on the performance of the processed wool yarns. Test plan is based on thesingle factor test analysis, use general rotatory composed design method. Stiness,elastic, wear resistance of wool carpet yarns are selected as evaluation index to get therelation between each index and the concentration of Polyacrylic acid ester,crosslinking agent, and baking temperature through the experiment, then by using thegenetic algorithm to find out the optimum process. The optimum process conditionare: concentration of Polyacrylic acid ester24.38ml/l, concentration of cross-linkingagent4.45%, baking temperature108℃, concentration of dimethylsilicone fluid2g/l,baking time120s. After treating by this process, stiffness of the wool carpet is83.8mm,elasticity is3.315%, Wear-resisting number is3029times.The wool fiber surface coated with a layer of film, and the scaly surface becomeblurred after modified through observation by SEM. The wool carpet yarns which ismodified is rarely fall off after washed more times, and their stiffness, wearingresistance, elasticity changes very little. The impact to dyeing rate is not obvious aftermodified compared to the wool carpet yarns before modified.
