Germanium fiber is a kind of functional fiber made by adding high-tech treatedtrace elements of Germanium stone in fiber production process, which has certainfastness and durability.This subject was used Germanium fiber blended yarn produced by ShanghaiNande Textile Technology Co., LTD., which is made of40%Germanium fiber and60%combed cotton fiber. The fineness of the fiber is14.7tex. The substrate of thefiber is Polyester fiber. Based on the study and analysis about the properties ofGermanium fiber and blended yarn, it is concluded that the cross section ofGermanium fiber is irregular tetragon, of which cell wall has minor cracks and on thecross section there is Germanium micro powder. Lengthways shape mainly looks likeirregular columnlike structure,lengthways surface is relatively smooth with severalgrooves. Germanium fiber has relatively high single fiber strength, higherretraction,lower elongation. Its blended yarn have relatively high single-yarnstrength and elongation; relatively good evenness; general hairiness; low twistirregularity; high moisture regain; It can resist hot in wet or dry environment, neitherresists strong alkalis nor acid. According to the properties above, we should controlthe next steps reasonably.Based on the above research, five products were manufactured on thecomputerized flat knitter while expounding the knitting process and knitting keypoints.After that, the basic properties of the fabrics were tested. It is showed from thetesting result that Germanium fiber is suitable for developing knitted fabrics.It is scoured for the Germanium knitted fabrics. Its scoured process should be:NaOH4g/L, scouring agent1g/L, osmotic agent JFC5g/L, liquor ratio1∶20,temperature95℃, time30min. After scouring, using0.5g/L acetic acid neutralize10min in80℃, then washing and drying. Scouring fabrics whiteness increased, andbursting strength is down slightly.To bleach Germanium fiber knitted fabrics, this subject choose hydrogenperoxide as bleaching agents. whiteness, bursting strength and handle were evaluationindex. The influence of dosage of bleacher, temperature, time and pH value on bleaching effect were analyzed with the single factor analytic method, then optimizedthe bleaching technology with orthogonal analytic method, and finally got the optimalbleaching technology,that is hydrogen peroxide(30%)20mL/L, sodium silicate3g/L,penetrating agent JFC2g/L, pH value11, liquor ratio1∶20,90℃and50min.Usingthe optimal bleaching technology,the bleached fabrics have higher whiteness, goodhandle and fabric damage is smaller, A satisfactory bleaching effect was achieved.Because the substrate of Germanium fiber is Polyester fiber, the Germaniumfiber blended yarn is equivalent to Polyester cotton blended yarn. It is determined todye Germanium knitted fabrics with general dye combination of Polyester/cottonblended knitted fabric: disperse/reactivedyes.using two bath process, the Optimalprocess to dye Polyester composition of Germanium knitted fabrics is disperse blue2BLN dye2%(o.w.f), Polyester carrier1%(o.w.f), The solid content of4%antimigration agent5g/L, Peregal O1%(o.w.f), pH value4.5, the dyeing temperature90℃, the fixing time60min, liquor ratio1∶20;And the Optimal process to dyecotton composition of Germanium knitted fabrics is reactive KN-G dyes1.2%(o.w.f),sodium carbonate10g/L, Sodium chloride20g/L, sodium hexametaphosphate1%(o.w.f), liquor ratio1∶30,the dyeing temperature60℃, the dyeing time30min,the fixing temperature90℃,the fixing time30min. By using this process,the dyedfabric strength damage is smaller, and washing color fastness, the cricking colorfastness and the perspiration color fastness is relatively good..Through the tests on the durability, dimensional stability,comfortableness andthe emission of the far-infrared of Germanium fiber knitted fabrics, it is showed thatthe heat preservation, the air permeability, the wet permeability, the bursting strength,the rigidity-flexibility, the drapability and the crease recovery of Germanium fiberknitted fabrics are good, and the emitting rate of far-infrared is good. The results showthat all the properties of Germanium fiber knitted fabrics meet the demands ofwearability. Germanium fiber is fit for knitting garments. The products will have alarge market potential, because it fit the consuming trend of environment, fashion andhealth.The fuzzy mathematics comprehensive judgement was used to evaluate thewearability of above five Germanium knitted fabric, and finally we received that halfcardigan stitch owns the optimal wearability and is best fitted to develop Germaniumknitted products.
