Linear rolling guideway is one of the important features in the mechanical transmission.It has been widely used in Numerical Control Machine tools and many other fields asprecision guide parts. Friction characteristics of rolling linear guideway has directly influenceon the performance of it. Frictional resistance of bearing area is the primary source of thefrictional resistance of linear rolling guideway.This paper choosed ball bearing linear rollingguideway as an object and conducted a series of research with the purpose of exploring thethe friction characteristics of bearing area.The main content of this thesis includes contact state analysis of bearing area, motionanalysis of bearing area,friction mechanism analysis and the influence of guideway geometricparameters on friction characteristics. After that,Finite Element Method was used to confirmthe rationality of the theoretical model.The content can be concretely divided into thefollowing three aspects:1. Based on the Hertz contact theory, this thesis firstly analyzes the contact state betweenthe ball and the raceway and the related parameters in the bearing area. The theoreticalrelationship between the fitting magnitude of interference and the pre-load is confirmed. Thenthe motion state of the ball in the bearing area is analyzed and the computational formula ofthe spin-to-roll ration is deduced.2. Based on the rolling friction theory, this thesis analyzes the mechanism of theproduction of the frictional resistance and deduces the computational formula of the relatedfrictional resistence.On the basis of the previous study, this thesis studies the influence of thelinear rolling guideway fitting magnitude of interference and the radius ratio between theraceway and the ball to the frictional characteristics.3. Based on the finite element simulation software, this thesis builds a simplified modelof the Linear rolling guideway bearing area and conducts the dynamic simulation ofit.Different structural parameters and working parameters is selected in the simulation modeland the frictional resistance of the motion process is solved and then the result is analyzed andcompared with the theoretical result.The achievements of the thesis will have some reference value to the design and themanufacture of the Linear rolling guideway and the study results will give meaningfultheoretic guidance for further study of frictional features of the linear rolling guideway.
