Aiming at the test for the friction and precision of roller linear guide, this issue has developed a kind of testing equipment for the roller linear guide’s friction and precision in the background of a national major scientific and technological project, "Research of Roller Components Common Features Technology in High-grade CNC Machine (2012ZX04002021)". In according to finish this study, control system and operating software should be built, test method should be designed and test data should be analyzed.Firstly, this issue has raised the problems of domestic test for roller linear guide’s friction and precision and made the analysis of the research method and test equipment at this stage. On such bases, the test requirements of the equipment which aims to test the roller linear guide’s friction and progress have been put forward.Solutions have been provided according to the test requirements. The issue established the key performance indicators, the detection range and parameters of the test equipment, namely the top-level design. On this basis, the overall program of the test equipment has been designed, including the testing program, testing environment, driven program, measuring technique and lathe’s program of the test equipment.On the basis of the test equipment’s overall design, the optimized design which contains three major parts--the mechanical structure, the control system and the operating software has been created. Software such as Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD and ANSYS has been used to make the three-dimensional modeling and two-dimensional drawing of the lathe’s parts, the table components, the placement shelf s components and the measuring parts of the test equipment. Also, the key parts have been optimized at the same time. According to the requirement of measuring parameter, testing and control system which contains the selection of sensors and data acquisition board as well as the design of electrical circuits has been set up. Visual C++ compiler software has been used to design the operating software of test equipment to accomplish the human-computer interaction, data analysis and report displays print.Testing methods, steps and precautions should be set down after the completion of the test equipment. The test for the sample should be made to verify the accuracy and repeatability of the instrument.
