Because of its excellent biological activity,dihydrocapsaicin can be used in many fieldsjust like the field of biological medicines, biomaterial,medical care material and so on. Thehigh high purity dihydrocapsaicin,which was synthesised by amidation,had beencharacterized by FTIR,NMR,EI etc.The melting point is57.85℃,and the thermal degradationpoint is274.66℃.The antibacterial activity of dihydrocapsaicin to Escherichia coli had beencornfirmed in this research,and the Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and theMinimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) is25ug/ml respectively. The repellent effect toants of dihydrocapsaicin had been investigated,and we had found that the repellenteffect,which belongs to the stong irritant, becomes more obvious with the addition in theconcerntration.The mechanical properties,antibacterial property and aversion performance had also beendiscussed in this paper. The antibacterial efficiency declines with the addition of washingnumbers.The inhibition rate still reach to94.58%after ten washes. The Bactericidal action offiber mat is obvious,and the inhibition rate raise up to97%in3hours.The mechanical property of fiber mate had been also studied in this paper. The resultrevealed that the mechanical property can be affected by the content of dihydrocapsaicin. Themechanical property can be improved by controlling the dihydrocapsaicin content.Finally,the repellent activity of fiber mat to ant had been tested. According to theexperiment, the fiber mat posses good repellent activity to ant and when the dihydrocapsaicincontent is8%(w/w),the aversion rate is70%.
