With the expansion of production scale of coal mine and coal mine digital production increased, the coal mine safety production requirements are also rising. The belt conveyor as the transportation equipment of coal mine, its safe and reliable operation is very important.The common fault of coal mine belt conveyor are studied as the object of by the thesis. According to the problems of incomplete kind and low reliability of protection of mine belt conveyor, the thesis designed an intelligent protection system of belt conveyor which combined with the microcontroller and sensor technology. The system designed a feasible sensor detection method which based on the conveyor belt slippage, over-temperature, belt disalignment, coal piling, smoke and other common fault analysis and study, used MCU to detection, alarm and control belt conveyor downtime and related protection device.The main research contents of the thesis are as follows:Structure and working principle of the intelligent protection system for coal mine conveyor belt is illustrated, with protection system for conveyor through field investigation of coal preparation plant, with the common fault type and site operation personnel recommendations, the sensor installation position, the functions and technical indexes of the belt conveyor protection system sensor control system were determined in accordance with the "MT872-2000used in coal mine belt conveyor protection device technical conditions" and the National Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau of the "coal mine safety regulations" regulations. The structure of control and communication used host computer and slave computer two levels system. The host comptuer as the main control machine of the belt conveyor protection system which is installed in the belt conveyor head position to responsible for the detection the signals of the slave computer, alarm or shutdown command and control relay accordingly. The slave computer is responsible for collecting and processing signals from various sensors, and communication with the host computer through the RS485communication protocol. The system only need to extend the slave computer when there are many of the belt conveyor or increase the conveyor length.The the coal mine belt conveyor protection system hardware circuits which served C8051F020chip as control core are designed, including the input signal conditioning circuit, the output signal driving circuit, minimum system, external RAM circuit, RS485communication circuit and protection circuit. The system designed increases the anti-interference measures of hardware and improve the stability of system.Software design of the belt conveyor protection system in the integrated design environment of Cygnal IDE which according to the function of the modularization, including the main program, analog and switch quantity signal processing subroutine, A/D sampling subroutine, RS485communication subroutine, CRC verification subroutine etc. The software of the coal mine belt conveyor intelligent protection system is written by assembly language and C language combination, enhance the readability of the software and improve the efficiency of the system.The debugging of the hardware circuit and software system are indicated the design of the coal mine belt conveyor intelligent protection system can achieve accurate detection, timely response and stable communication requirements, which implementation of the reliable protection of conveyer belt deviation, slipping, overtemperature fault, and to meet the protection requirements of mine belt conveyor.
