The efficient and safe running of mine hoist plays an important role in economic benefitsand safety of staff in coal mine. As more and more complicated structure and closerrelationship between each component, failure of any component will lead to accidents in coalmine. With the development of modern computer technology, test technology andcommunication technology, research on monitoring and fault diagnosis technology of minehoist will be really meaningful.In this paper, by analyzing common hoisting pumps in coal mine and mechanical faults ofhoist, in according to coal mine safety engineering, the main performance parameters and testmethods of the system of mine hoist monitoring and fault diagnosis have been studied, andthe fault diagnosis method of mine hoist based on integrated neutral network has beenresearched. In addition, the overall structure of the hardware system was determined, theselection of sensors, acquisition card and industrial personal computer was completed and thesignal conditioning circuit was designed. A new kind of digital sensor which consists ofmechanical probe and measuring timing circuit was designed, by which the idle motion timeof hoist can be measured. Compared with the original test method, this one can realizereal-time monitoring on idle motion time based on its simple structure, convenient operationand high accuracy. By analyzing the function demands of mine hoist monitoring and faultdiagnosis, the overall structure of software system was determined. By using modularprogramming method, based on LabVIEW8.5and Matlab7.0neural network tools, thesoftware system was developed. Finally, the experiment platform of the system of mine hoistmonitoring and fault diagnosis was established to complete analysis on static characteristics,and to verify function of each module of the software system. The results showed that thesystem developed can realize real-time monitoring on main running parameters and diagnosison common fault of mine hoist. Besides, it has the characteristics of convenient operation and good performance, and also it can meet the requirements of coal mine production.
