China is abundant of coal reserves, but is insufficient of reserves of coking coal, which isthe main product of the JinNeng subplant of Dawukou coal preparation plant. It uses TBSinterference bed sorter for sorting1-0.2mm thick slime. Due to this technology isn’t matureenough, thus the precision for difficult and extremely difficult coal selection isn’t good, andthe reclaimed rate also very low. So lots of precious coking coal resources lost during thewashing and selection process, which directly affects the economic interests.For the difficult separation coal and extremely difficult separation coal, the coal ganguecan be partially dissociated by grinding dissociation. After that, a re-sorting step can beemployed, in this way, not only the fine coal that has ready been dissociated can be collected,but also the fine coal lost in the recycling cyclone can be collected.The study of TBS tailings dissociation experiments show that: after the screeningexperiment, the dominant size of the coal samples is0.30-0.154mm, accounting for43.23%.The washability curves show that, when the ash is11.50%, up to about35%of the theoreticalyield can be achieved. The flotation experiments show that: when the ash11.50%, the actualyield is up to55%. So the conclusion can be draw that after TBS tail coal grindingdissociation recoverable by flotation system, a considerable amount of the coke coal resourceswere reclaimed, great economic benefits were created for Dawukou coal washery.Finally, by optimizing the existing process, a optimization process can be fixed for theJinNeng subplant of Dawukou Coal Preparation Plant: Dense medium cyclone of threeproducts (50-1mm)+the coarse slime (1-0.2mm) three-Product TBS+TBS in coal grinding+fine slime (<0.2mm) the direct flotation+tail coal concentrate filter press. The optimizedprocess combines the mud heavy medium washing process with the grinding depth solution from the washing process together, which has the benefits of being advanced, practical, highreliability and high separation efficiency. The production system is flexible, adjustable andconvenient for operation management, efficient and simple quality control.
