The Tangshan Mine at Kailuan is a high-quality coking coal producing areas, and Kailuan’s Clean Coal has strongly caking and good coking properties, but part of the mine or part of the coalbed of coal shows abnormal changes, which affects the quality and variety of the coal. On the basis of statistical analysis of the quality of coal in Tangshan coal mine, we selected the four representative coals, Lvjiatuo mine, Fangezhuang mine, Qianjiaying mine and Zhaogezhuang mine, as experimental basis, used a200kg small coke oven for coal coking, and took comprehensive analysis for coal quality. We also determined microscopic composition of coal, petrographic property of coal, random reflectance of vitrinite of coal using micro-photometer and polarizing microscope. Coking properties of single coals were tested by the200kg coke oven, and the quality of coke was determined, and then the evaluation and prediction of coal quality analysis were conducted. Based on all of above, we made a correlation analysis between coal properties and microscopic property of coal petrographic composition. At last, combining with actual production, we offered a reasonable proposal for mining and washing of Kailuan Mine coal for blending coal.The study of the thesis shows that the coal classes of Kailuan mine are complex, but the variation trend of the coal of Kailuan mine is significant and the caking of coal samples is stronge. Coking performance of Lujiatuo coal is good, and mechanical strength index and thermal properties of coke of Lvjiatuo coal alone can satisfy the first metallurgical coke standards. Lvjiatuo coal is a kind of high metamorphic grade coking coal or fat coal, while Zhaogezhuang coal, Fangezhuang coal and Qianjiaying coal are medium metamorphic grade fat coal or1/3coking coal. All of the four mines are high quality coking coal resources, but ash and sulfur of four cual samples are a little high in content.Dependency relationship between vitrinite reflectance and volatile of Kailuan coking coal is the best. Correlation coefficient between coal caking index, final shrinkage, maximum glial layer thickness and vitrinite reflectance is the next. Dependency relationship between coal caking index, final shrinkage, maximum glial layer thickness and volatile is the poorest. Within a certain range, the final contraction degrees of Kailuan coking coal gradually increases with the increase of the volatile, and the largest glial layer thickness gradually increases with increasing caking index.There is a deviation between model prediction value and measured value on the caking index G, and it’s greater than the weighted deviation. Therefore, the caking index of Kailuan coal blending shall be obtained by the weighting method. The volatile of coal samples is closely related to the content of macerals. The volatile decreases with increasing inertinite content, and caking index decreases with increasing inertinite content, so that a new rapid determination method of macerals has been proposed.Caking index of Kailuan Mine coking coal has additivity, so vitrinite reflectance histogram of blending coal can be obtained by single coal vitrinite reflectance sub-partition. The Coal maceral content also has additivity, which provides important theoretical basis for the determination of the mining and washing program.The overall characteristics of the Kailuan Mine coking coal is preferable. Basic coal quality analysis together with coal petrographic analysis indicators can accurately predict the quality of the coal seam, and determine rational program of mining and washing, which may optimize the structure of coal resources, stabalize coking coal quality, improve coal value, and finally improve economic benefits significantly.
