As the tool for molding the products, the size and deformation of the core and cavityof injection mold have a direct influence on the size and precision of injection products.Measuring the mold deformation during injection process can not only verify whether themold has enough strength and rigidity to guarantee its normal usage, but also concern withwhether the dimension and precision of the injection parts meet the requirements. Besides,taking the mold deformation into account during CAE analysis can make the analysisresults more authentic.CAE technology is the best way to obtain the deformation condition of injectionmold, considering the time, cost and workload. The final aim of the paper is to build astructure analysis scheme of injection mold with both accuracy and efficiency, and toverify the correctness of the simulation scheme, the measurement test is essential and theaccuracy of its result is important.First, a platform is set up to measure the mold deformation. Strain gauges are pastedto the external surface at the representative places, to measure the strain in the injectionmolding process. Combined with the test curves, characteristics of the mold deformationat different positions in different injection stage and characteristics of the molddeformation under different packing pressure are qualitatively analysed.After that, structure analysis model of injection mold is established. Especially, thegeometric model simplification, loading and related issues are discussed. In this chapter, apressure mapping program based on the distance of nodes is developed, and theorthogonal test method is used to determine the best simplified model.Finally, the structure analysis model of injection mold is verified. The comparison oftest result and the simulated result is made, from which it can be seen that the structureanalysis model is qualitatively accurate, but has quantitative deviation.
