Double drum shearer is one of the main equipment for mechanization mining. It is widelyused in different geological coal conditions for its high yield and efficiency, the characteristics ofstrong adaptability. The drum work as the main mechanism of shearer, direct contact with thecoal rock, work environment is very bad. So the research on its load seems particularlyimportant.This paper based on the theory of average cutting load established the mathematical modelof shearer drum working load through MATLAB software; and at the same time have simulating,comparison and analyzing with the working load of drum under different coal seam conditions.Because in the actual production, drum’s working performance and stability shows greatlydifference under different working parameters and geometrical parameters. This paper theshearer drum working load by using the simulation program, analyzed the change trend of drumload, torque, wave when cutting different medium, make progress for the deeper understand ofchange rules. And then, have studies on the effect to load when working under different workingparameters and different geometrical parameters (Including the rotating speed of drum, thehauling speed of shearer, picks arrangement on drum, transversal distance and condition drumunder lacking pick). Finally, have a spectrum analysis on shearer drum working load respectivelyon time domain and frequency domain, research on the characteristics and causes of itsself-correlation, mutual-correlation, auto-power spectrum and cross-power spectrum.
