Spinning is the last and the most important working procedure of yarn. The quality ofyarn determines the quality of the finished product. The yield of spinning machine reflects thelevel of production of textile enterprises. Winding device is the core component ofspinning-frame, and has an important influence on yarn qualities.In this paper, a set of electronic winding theory is established according to the traditionallaw of motion of the winding device. Then, by selecting hardware and developing software, aset of electronic winding system is designed. First, based on the movement mechanism of thelifting device, the mathematical model of the electronic winding is given. Second, accordingto the requirement of the electronic winding system, the hardware used in the system ischosen. Finally, the software has programmed byStep7-Micro/WIN..The design of new electronic winding device is based on the servo control system, toreplace the cam of traditional winding mechanism. The winding device is composed of thetouch panel, Siemens PLC, servo driver, servo motor, worm gear, reducer and ring platelifting mechanism. Among them, Siemens PLC and touch panel connected by RS485. PLCobtains information from the touch panel, and then sends the pulse to the servo driver. Servodriver sends the signal to the servo motor. Servo motor rotates according to the receivedsignal, and then drives ring plate lifting mechanism to motion. Using Siemens PLC, it isbecause of its simple controlling, high performance, supporting multiple communicationprotocols. Touch panel can achieve the conversation of man and machine. In the using ofprocess, users only need to input parameters on the touch panel. It is not necessary to replacethe gears. It can improve the work efficiency and reduce the labor intensity. It is precisecontrolling, simple operation, stable performance.
