Sorona fiber is a new kind of modified polyester fiber, which is produced by themeans of renewable natural resources and bio-technology, and with environmentalperformance. Yarns and fabrics made of Sorona fiber possess good feeling, goodensile resilience, good wrinkle resistance and shape retention. This paper appliesSorona to seamless knitting products and combined with seamless technology, and inthe meanwhile, by studying the wearability of seamless knitwear, reference value ofSorona’s marketing and functional products for seamless knittingcanbe concluded.In this paper, the surface morphology of Sorona fibers was observed by electronmicroscopy. The fiber performances like moisture regain, tensile breaking strengthand elasticity were tested and analyzed. The results show that many Sorona polymerparticles are adhered on the longitudinal surface of Sorona fiber, and the cross-sectionis irregular polygonal. Sorona filament’s moisture regain is slightly higher thanpolyester. Compared with ordinary polyester, Sorona filament has smaller tensilebreaking strength and initial modulus, and its elongation at break and elastic recoveryrate is higher, the plastic deformation rate is smaller.Sorona filament is modified polyester filament, compared with the samespecifications of polyester yarn.The samples scheme of Sorona filament fabric was set,with three factors: the veil of raw materials, interwoven ratios, weave structures. Theveil material’s level is Sorona filament and nylon, ordinarypolyester and nylon. Threeinterwoven ratios are50:50、75∶25、100∶0and weave structures use plain knit,1+1false rib,1+3false rib. Based on Orthogonal design,9samples of Sorona filamentseamless knitted fabrics were testing woven.Comparing the performance of Sorona filament fabrics and polyester fabrics, thewearability of Sorona filament seamless knitted fabrics was studied. The results showthat moisture absorption is much the same. The tensile elongation at break, creaserecovery, anti-pilling property of Sorona fabrics are much better than polyester fabrics, but the air permeability, moisture-penetrability, rigidity and softness are worse thanpolyester fabric.Sorona filament seamless knitted fabric’s elongation is not much affected by theinterwoven ratios, and3+1false rib fabric’s elongation is the best. Fabric moistureabsorption decreases with increasing of the interwoven ratios,3+1false rib fabric’smoisture absorption is the best, plain knit fabric’s show the weakest.Moisture-penetrability weakens with increasing of the interwoven ratios,3+1falserib fabric’s moisture-penetrability is the best. Three interwoven ratios have little effecton fabric’s air permeability and plain knit fabric’s air permeability is better. Fabricrigidity and softness is the worst at interwoven ratio of75:25,3+1false rib fabric’srigidity and softness is batter than others, and plain knit fabric is the softest. Fabriccrease recovery enhances with increasing of the interwoven ratios, elastic recoveryrate is improved,3+1false rib fabric’s crease recovery is the best. Through themethod of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, in the set scheme, it shows that Soronafilament seamless knitted fabrics using interwoven ratio of50:50and3+1false ribhave better comprehensive performance and wearability.In this paper, Sorona/cotton blended performance were tested and analyzed,including tensile breaking strength and elasticity. The results show that withincreasing Sorona content, yarn breaking strength and elongation are increased,plastic deformation rate is decreased, elastic recovery rate become better.The samples scheme of Sorona/cotton blended yarn fabric was set, with twofactors: the veil of raw materials, weave structures. The veil of raw materials has threelevels, cotton yarn,80/20cotton/Sorona,70/30cotton/Sorona. Weave structures useplain knit,1+1false rib,3+1false rib. Then9samples of blended yarn seamlessknitted fabrics were testing woven.The wearability of blended yarn seamless knitted fabrics was stud ied. The resultsshow that with the increasing Sorona content, the elongation at break, crease recoveryof blended yarn fabrics are enhanced, while moisture absorption,moisture-penetrability, air permeability, rigidity and softness become worse. Theanti-pilling property of fabric containing Sorona fiber is better than the one with no Sorona fiber. Through the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, in the setscheme, it shows that fabrics using80/20cotton/Sorona and1+1false rib have bettercomprehensive performance and wearability.In the end, a suit of Sorona seamless knitwear will be produced by using theseamless knitting technology and combining with human physiology and wearabilityconclusion of the above study to improve comfort.
