Formaldehyde is a common air pollutant, especially in the microenvironments. It hurt both people and cultural relics. According to the microenvironments, this research optimized and improved the Passive Sampling and analysis of formaldehyde based on the previous studies, accelerated the the speed of analysis and improved the reliability of the sampling results. At first, formaldehyde determination method was optimized. Using a rapid analytical column, improved the sensitivity and reduced the analysis time. By investigated the injection repeatability and stability, linear relationship, the limit of detection and quantification and recoveries, Proved that this column and detection methods can be used to detect formaldehyde. The derivative conditions were investigated, according the best conditions, get the highest concentration of standard solution from the derivative reaction. By investigated the storage time of standard solution, found that it can be saved at least76days in the refrigerator. Then, the passive sampling methods of formaldehyde were improved. By research the influence of glycerol on sampling results, the best content of glycerol in aborption solution is20%(w/w). And then ultrasonic-extraction time, installed recoveries, sample recoveries were investigated. The influence of the height of the sampler on the sampling results indicated that using two layers of diffusion chamber sampler was more reliable in a higher formaldehyde concentration environment. For the preservation of blank sampler, the research indicated that the best storage conditions is:add both the competitive sampler and nitrogen in the PP bottle, the save the in the refrigerator. If save the blank sampler like that, the transit blank can be neglected. Though investigation, it indicated that the blank samplers can be saved at least15days and the sampling samplers can be saved12days.Through several active and passive controlled trials, it proved that this passive sampling method is accuracy and reliability. Then this passive sampling and analytical methods was applied to the measurement of formaldehyde in museum and newly renovated houses. After analyzed the results of museum, we suggest that40μ g/m3can be the highest allowable formaldehyde concentration in cultural relics preservation environment...
