Small mobile parallel machine tool processing large workpieces is a kind of greatlypractical technology. In theory, it has broken away from the bondage of guide rail, so itcan work out very large workpieces. And self-adaptive location is a vital part for thistechnology. Now it has been used in laboratory. At present, the reliability and theprecision of the self-adaptive location method need to further demonstrate.In order to improve the reliability and improve the self-adaptive positioningprecision, this paper researches on the self-adaptive location methods based onprocessing of large flange. First, establish the mathematical model of the large flange,and give out the solution of the mathematical model. Then through improved themethods of the solution, improve the reliability of the adaptive orientation andpositioning precision.Based on mathematical model of self-adaptive orientation, the paper builds up themathematical model of the error of self-adaptive orientation. And find out the mainfactors that influence the precision of self-adaptive orientation: The pose matrixbetween coordinate system of workpieces and measuring equipment and the pose matrixbetween coordinate system of machine tool and measuring equipment. By analysis themwith matlab, the paper find out the method that improving the precision of self-adaptiveorientation. And then forecast the result of processing with the mathematical model ofthe error of self-adaptive orientation.Next, the paper put forward the new measurement system of machine coordinatesystem, made the method of self-adaptive orientation more reliable. And thencompensate the error of the machine, and give out the evaluation of the results.Through studing theory, the paper improves method of solving the mathematicalmodel of self-adaptive orientation. The experiment the paper validate feasibility andreliability of adaptive orientation. And validated the superiority of the new measurementby contrasting with the old one.
