In recent years the fine water mist system in domestic began to be applied, thetechnology was gradually mature, its application in subway has received more andmore attention. Tianjin railway station underground transportation hub project, is therail transit2,3,9line transfer hub, and at the same time is urban rail transportationand national railway system transfer hub. The application of water mist technology toreplace the traditional gas fire extinguishing system in such a large scale undergroundproject, is of undoubtedly significant from the scale effect. Combining with theTianjin station integrated transport hub’s characteristics, the fire risk of electricalequipment in a underground large space public building was analyzed, the feasibilityof high pressure water mist system application and the design procedure was studied.The work developed a fire protection system for electrical equipment room in thecomprehensive transportation hub. The new system is more energy-saving,environmental friendly and economical.Referring to the experience of foreign similar engineering, collecting andsummarizing literature at home and abroad and standard related, the paper putforward the appropriate application mode of high pressure water mist system inTianjin Railway Station hub. At the same time, in order to verify the extinguishingmechanism of water mist system, fire extinguishing ability, the applicationfeasibility to electrical fire, and the application mode in the subway project, theblocking radiant heat experiment, electrical safety experiment, electrical insulationexperiment, and concentration of toxic smoke in subway fire experiment werecarried out. Through analyzing the test data and the experience of Tianjin RailwayStation hub, the application of water mist system in engineering project wasconducted and studied.
