Since the policy of developing the country through science and education wasimplemented last century, great achievement has been made for the higher education,many universities have made their campus expanded, updated or build a new one. Theconstruction of mountain colleges and universities is an important part of China’seducational reform and development, the update and development of residence halls inmountain college campus a major project of mountain campus construction. Themountain universities restricted by topographical conditions, which brought thecontradiction between the contradiction of residence halls and energy saving to the fore.How can we get the balance on the students’ increasing comfort level and energy saving,becoming an important research topic of mountain universities construction nowadays,it is also being an important prerequisite for the sustainable development of mountaincampus.This paper is based on the background and analyzes the idea of mountain residencehalls energy-saving design from the energy-saving technology point of view. Firstly, thepaper summarized the main influence factors of mountain residence halls which basedon the analysis of the mountainous residence halls, then obtain the particularity ofenergy-saving technology for mountainous residence halls. This theory should payattention to the function as well as appearance, besides it needs to fully respect theproper regional mountain, and protect the environment. Then the paper introduces thecomponent elements of the theory including Climate adaptability, terrain reconstruction,landscape organization, layout, function combination and energy conservationmeasures.The paper taking Chongqing area as the research object, an investigation is carriedout as to the present situation of Mountainous Residence Hall including the waybuilding are designed and used. The classification of interior and exterior environmentis concluded by data collection or on-the-spot investigation. Then the research showsthat, there is a big progress has been made up in the environment design of Chongqingresidence hall, since the90’s of last century, both the construction quality and indoorcomfort level were improved in various degree, but at the same time, it has deficiencies.Firstly, the privation of energy-saving measures; secondly, the construction structure isunitary, and lacks personality. To solve this problem, this paper is based on the regional characteristics ofChongqing, to analyze the energy saving technology of traditional architecture inChongqing, in order to get some enlightenment. Then take effective measures toreorganize and consolidate them. To improve exterior environment, the thesis mainlydiscussed the dormitory area location and its planning. The tactics including the layoutof dormitory area functions, landscape planning and the shape design of dormitorylayout. The control tactics of inside environment point at one dormitory. Which containplan design, profile design and form design. With the help of digital simulationtechnology, we can find the indoor comfort level can be effectively improved byregulating the traffic space and public space, and summarize the best living unit model.The section layout analysis is mainly based on the characteristics of mountain city andproposes three basic vertical space: overhead space, concave space, atrium space. Then,about the form design, should pay attention to the basic form of thermal todiversification, to meet the requirements of the times. At the last part of the strategy,detailed design strategy, it introduce the analysis of several typically suitable energysaving technology, including wall insulation, energy-saving doors and windows, roofenergy saving, shading system and resource utilization technology.At the end, the paper taking Yubei campus of Southwest University of PoliticalScience and Law as example, the design strategies in practice are analyzed anddescribed. In the conclusion part, a summary of this article is made up.
