With the rapid process of urbanization in China, the problem from the conflictbetween human and land is increasingly rigorous, such as urban traffic congestion,low efficiency, spatial spread and environmental degradation, etc. As a new trip modeof city traffic, with the advantages of powerful transport capacity, fast, punctual,efficient energy-saving green mode of transport, higher safety comfort and others, railtransit is not only becoming one of efficient ways of solving traffic jam in most citiesat present, but also is regarded as the essential means of stimulating regionaleconomic prosperity and promoting the optimization of urban spatial structure. As themedia between traffic facilities and city space, urban public space around rail transitstations with the frequent flow of people, logistics, information and etc., make animpact on the space morphology and economic development in regions profoundly.Along with the rapid development of Beijing urban space and traffic problemincreasingly sharp contradictions, such as Beijing old city rail site walk around poortransportation accessibility and relative lack of urban public space and other issuesbecome more and more obvious. The use of urban public space quality around railtransit station can not get enough attention, to limit its functioning largely.In order to solve the urban public space around Beijing old city rail transitstation’s poor using quality problems, the article embarks from the medium measureurban design, space syntax as the main research methods, in Beijing old cityresidential type rail site as the breakthrough point, discusses the urban public space ofresidential type track site surrounding space type, the design attributes and pedestrianbehavior influence over the use of space, etc., in order to inspire the Beijing old cityresidential type railway site optimization strategy of urban public space andoptimization measures for its implementation.After stated the background topics, research significance and content, the articleis related to the theory research of domestic and foreign rail site area space andgeneralizes city public space. In TOD, environment behavior and analyzes the basis ofthe theory of space syntax, type12living in Beijing old city orbit case investigationsites around the city public space, space syntax as the main analysis methods, the quantitative analysis of its deep space fabric characteristics, again through the methodof observation environment conditions on the pedestrian behavior analysis, theinfluence of combination of questionnaire survey of pedestrian environment cognitionand psychological feelings, do the analysis and comparison of results of the analysisand combination of space syntax to further determine the impact of Beijing old cityresidential type rail site around the quality of the urban public space use, thus drawsthe corresponding optimization strategy.Research application of the theory of space syntax in the orbits of the sitesurrounding the quantitative analysis of urban public space form and the actual surveyenvironment conditions and behavior relevance analysis, the results show thatBeijing’s old city residential type track site surrounding urban public space in thespace form, function, use and facilities management exist great problems, theseproblems affect the pedestrian environment surrounding the site quality and userexperience. Combining with the results of the analysis put forward the correspondingoptimization design principles and optimal design, and expounds the residential typerailway site optimization strategy of urban public space, from linear urban publicspace form, urban public space use linear, planar urban public space form, usingplanar urban public space, public facilities and service management this five aspectsput forward the corresponding optimization solution, and further discusses the Beijingold city residential status problem of urban public space surrounding the type rail sitesolution, and optimize the implementation of the need to pay attention to are pointedout.To test and verify the rationality of the proposed optimization measures andspace syntax in urban public space surrounding the optimized rail site of thefeasibility, in mixed classes living type rail site-HePingMen as an example, based onthe orbit of space syntax around site specific optimization measures, urban publicspace and application in HePingMen rail site optimization, the optimization resultsand the status quo of the results of the comparison, carries on the analysis andevaluation for rail transit site surrounding urban public space development andconstruction to provide the reference.
