But comparing to the manufacturing industryhas grown many times the production efficiency, the efficiency and effectivenessof construction industry grow slowly. Hysteresis of information management andextensive management way are partly leading to the situation. With thedevelopment of economy and society, the living standards improved and thehorizon expanded, people have more demand than before. Therefore, theemergence of heterogeneous building, super-tall building, sustainable buildinggive a challenge to construction industry, from design, construction toorganization.The emergency of BIM maybe the opportunity of construction industry,which leading to transformation and development. Through integratinginformation of building, structure, facilities and process in building lifecycletime into one database, BIM makes the integration and optimization into truth,and truly support building lifecycle management.On the base of the analysis of theory and element related of BIM, this paperabsorbs essential of total idea from total quality control and so on, and builds thetotal application system of BIM. This system includes three dimensions, whichare total process, total organization and total element. It bases on idealized BIMtechnology and idealized process management suitable for BIM, therefore, thesystem has certain prospective and directive. According to the system, the BIMapplication maturity model is set up. The maturity model includes evaluationindex system of maturity, distinguishing method of the index and assessmentmethod of maturity level. Through analysis of the given case, the utility,usability and accuracy of maturity model are confirmed. With the model, wecould easily distinguish the maturity level of BIM application in a given project,the relative weak link can be found simultaneously, which provides reference toenterprise to improve its BIM application ability. |
