To realize the sustainable development in the field of transportation, various countries in the world are focused on the research and development of the technology for electric vehicles today and in the future for a long time. As one of the three key technologies of electric vehicles, the motor drive technology is now getting widely attention.Switched reluctance motor(SRM) is of great potential to use in electric vehicles as drive motor, because of its simple structure, superior performance, low cost and high reliability, it plays important role in market of motor drive system for electric vehicles in the future. To improve the torque ripple and efficiency, also promote the application and spread of SRM, this dissertation carries out research and development of switched reluctance motor drive system(SRD) for electric vehicles based on the Science and Technology projects in Anhui Province.Firstly, based on the structure and basic operation principle of SRM, the reasons of torque ripple and electromagnetic noise are analyzed; based on the complex condition of electric vehicles, and high performance requirement to its motor drive system, the research emphasis of SRD for electric vehicles are concluded, also the control objective of SRD in this dissertation is confirmed.Secondly, the mathematical model of SRM is built, includes flux-linkage equations, electromagnetism equations, mechanical equations and so on. Also, The process parameters and performance characteristic are qualitative analyzed, and linear expression formulas of correlation parameters are obtained, include phase inductance, phase current and so on.Then, the optimized direct instantaneous torque control strategy of SRD system for electric vehicles is proposed, which gives consideration to torque ripple and efficiency, includes speed regulation module, instantaneous torque regulation module, angle optimization module and so on. By using MATLAB/Simulink, the simulation model of the whole control system is built to validate and optimize the proposed control strategy, the simulation results show that the proposed strategy can realize the instantaneous torque closed loop control of SRM, it improves the torque ripple and efficiency on the premise of ensuring dynamic performance.Finally, aimed at the4kilowatt6/4SRM for electric vehicles, the software and hardware of control system are designed based on DSP and CCS software development environment. The prototype test of SRD and vehicle test are carried out for further test and optimization of its performance, the test result shows the designed control system can meet the basic performance indicators.
