The clutch is the important part of the automobile transmission system, which ensure the car start smoothly, the transmission shift smoothly and keep the system from overload. The diaphragm spring as the important pressing element of the diaphragm spring clutch has good nonlinear characteristics. It can press friction pair and separate mechanism and the quality of its design will directly influence the working performance of automobile clutch.This paper studies the finite element analysis, motion simulation and the optimization of structure parameters of the diaphragm spring. Firstly, model Three-dimensional entity of the diaphragm spring of one company, and mesh hexahedral grid in Hypermesh software; do implicit and explicit solution of the diaphragm spring using ANSYS/LS-DYNA software; After applying a preload on the big end of the diaphragm spring, simulate the motion simulation when the small end of the diaphragm spring is loaded. Test and verify of the research that the diaphragm spring does not exceed the yield limit and meet the design requirements of the strength. It also proved that the preload can effectively reduce the internal stress. And then establish the rigid-flexible hybrid model of diaphragm spring clutch cover assembly in ADAMS software. The virtual simulation of clutch cover assembly further verified the rationality of the diaphragm spring design, which made a theoretical basis for optimization. Finally, do discrete optimization of diaphragm spring’s structure by means of uniform optimization and it improved the working performance of the diaphragm spring.
