In the long term, electrical work must be withstand many bad effects, such as themaximum working voltage, operating over voltage, thunder and lightning overvoltage, resonance over voltage, and so on. In the effect of voltage, electricalinsulation materials will change the internal structure. When the overvoltage strengthreaches a certain value, the insulation materials will be breakdown, and electricalequipment will not run properly. Voltage withstand test is the most effective and directmethod of identifying electrical equipment insulation strength and bear variousover-voltage capacity, which is important to guarantee the safe operation of theelectrical equipment.The Virtual Instrument technology is the product of combination of moderncomputer technology and equipment technology. It is a hot spot for the developmentof current measurement and control technology, and it will promote the rapiddevelopment of the intelligent instrument technology.A set of with turn-to-turn voltage and power frequency voltage withstand testmulti-function test system based on virtual instrument was designed in the paper, inwhich the power electronic technology, sensor technology, data acquisitiontechnology, signal processing and analysis technology were applied. The LDI300dataacquisition card apparatus was used as the lower hardware platform, and the virtualinstrument programming environment LabVIEW8.6was used as the developmentplatform, which made full use of the advantages of the virtual instrument technology,and some traditional instruments and button were saved.The principle of inter-turn voltage test and the power frequency voltagewithstand test ware analyzed in the paper, and simulation circuit was built to verify;The hardware platform was built in microcomputer as the core of system, voltageregulator circuit and boost circuit were designed, including data acquisition circuit,charging and discharging circuit. Device selection was made. Virtual instrumentsoftware system was designed based on the LabVIEW, data acquisition subroutineand criterion subroutine ware developed; The inter-turn voltage test and the powerfrequency withstand voltage test were implemented according to the requirements ofstandards, and the test results was analyzed in detail.
