The traditional structure of power distribution networks and its protection, operation and management mode can’t meet the demands now; in order to improve the quality of the power supply, the new power distribution mode and distribution automation system are in urgent need. Based on the current situation of Fangshan distribution network, the basic idea of unified planning, step-by-step implementation and slow and steady is adopted. The scheme of Fangshan distribution automation and its management system is analyzed and discussed in this paper.The paper first analyzes the status of distribution automation, introduces the current development of domestic and international distribution network automation, and the research content and significance of the work are presented on this basis. Secondly, the overall design of the Fangshan distribution automation system solutions, including design basis, design principles, the implementation of the objectives and design requirements is proposed. Then, the paper focuses on the research and analysis of distribution automation once the equipment and terminal configuration program, which includes the backbone overhead line equipment, overhead Extension line equipment and cable network switch cabinet hardware configuration. The thesis introduces the choice and features of specific equipment. The detailed description of the working principle and advantages of each device are analyzed. The paper also discusses the scheme of Fangshan distribution automation communication implementation. According to the characteristics and design principles of Fangshan power supply distribution network, the specific scheme of the Fangshan distribution automation communication implementation is presented. Finally, the paper analyzes and researches the system solutions of Fangshan distribution monitoring and management of master station, containing SCADA system functions, SMS, alarm function, real-time data management functions, historical data management capabilities and equipment entry maintenance functions. The specific hardware and software configurations are proposed based on system design requirements.The distribution automation presented can improve the basic graphic of network and creating database by means of management of distribution monitoring system. Finally the complete feeder automation is realized by building distribution automation platforr in Fangshan, which can enhance the efficiency and level of Fangshan distribution production management. These measures can also bring considerable economic and social benefits.
