| With the acceleration of the urbanization process in China, the development of big cities is extremelyrapid, urban construction has made brilliant achievements. The scale of the cities is expanding constantly.The land-use structure and the urban spatial conformation of the cities also change dramatically. But manyof the urban problems is therefore apparent especially the uncoordinated development between urbanspatial structure and urban traffic confused many cities. Urban traffic congestion has become one of theobstacles to achieve sustainable development. And we cannot solve the problem completely only in theurban traffic view,it is necessary to coordinate urban traffic and urban spatial structure to solve theproblem.This paper is a demonstration research on the mutual relationship between urban traffic and urbanspatial structure. The paper takes Zhengzhou city as the case and puts the research into theperiod(from1948to2011).Firstly,the paper researches the dynamic evolvement of urban spatial structureand urban traffic. Secondly,after synthesized research,the paper discusses the law of the mutualrelationship between urban traffic and urban spatial structure and the aspects of the relationship which cannot fit the city goal of sustain able development.At last,the paper analyzes the optimized orientation ofurban traffic and urban spatial structure and puts forward the main strategies and suggestions which arm torealize the mutual optimizing of them.Based on the interactive and feed backing relation between urban traffic and urban spatial structure,and in accordance with the order as follows:first puts forward the subject,then finds out the problems, andsolves the problems at last,the full paper’s divided into seven chapters: Chapter one described the researchstudy on the background and significance of the topic, presented the study on research methods, content ofthis article, as well as choice of study area. The second chapter is the overview of the concepts and thedomestic and foreign scholars of urban transport and urban spatial structure research.. In chapter three, wefocused on the historical evolution of urban transportation and urban spatial structure in Zhengzhou, and summarizing the evolution of the pattern of the relationship between the two. The fourth chapter, throughtheoretical and empirical research focuses on analysis of the spatial structure of urban traffic and in theevolution of the interaction. Begins with an analysis of the mode of transportation, urban road networks andtransportation infrastructure-building time impact on the evolution of urban spatial structure, Followed byanalysis of urban spatial form choice of transportation, urban density and urban overall planning of urbantransport. The fifth chapter analyses the interaction between urban transportation and urban spatial structurein Zhengzhou city and emerging issues. The sixth chapter, presented to achieve coordinated development ofboth strategies. Seventh chapter paper conclusions and outlook. |
