With the economy development of the various regions of the world, the growingscope of international trade, the increasing volume of trade, the responsibilityassumed of the Transportation is unprecedented. The pivotal role of the port as thecollection and distribution of goods is increasingly significant, Qingdao Port as animportant port of the Pacific west coast, shoulders the great responsibility intransporting the international cargo, the collection and distribution capacity of itcontinues to accept the challenges of the huge throughput. In order to enhance thecompetitiveness of Qingdao Port in Northeast Asia ports and complete the grand goalfor the construction of the shipping center in Northeast Asia, Qingdao Port Group,Qingdao Municipal Government and other relevant departments explore actively theway in improving the port’s through capacity. Container sea-rail intermodal transportas the important part of container multimodal transport, connecting sea and landtransportation, it shows many advantages in various ways in the collection anddistribution, for example, it can not only reduce the transportation cost but alsoachieve energy conservation and emissions reduction, therefore, Qingdao Port shouldaccelerate the development of container sea-rail intermodal transport.Chapter0as the introduction part introduces the research background, significance, reviews the research status at home and abroad, summarizes the main contents andideas. Chapter1introduces the relevant theoretical basis on container sea-railintermodal transport, summarizes the successful experience from abroad byintroducing the development in the world. Chapter2on the basis of describing thecontainer sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port comprehensively from theaspects of the business development, trains operation and the railway system, pointsout the necessity for speeding up the development of the container sea-rail intermodaltransport in Qingdao Port. Chapter3and Chapter4are the main parts of the research,Chapter3carries on the analysis of volume forecast quantitatively for the futuredevelopment of container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port. Chapter4carries on the comprehensive benefits analysis from economic and environmentalbenefits for the container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port。Combinationof the two parts, points out the necessity quantitatively for speeding up the development of the container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port. Finally,on the basis of the research above, the paper proposes the recommendations forpromoting the development of container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port. The part of the conclusion and prospect is a summary of full text research, points outthe shortage of research and prospects the future research direction. The full text focuses on the volume forecast quantitatively and benefit analysisfor container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port. In volume quantitativeforecast: through using the combined forecasting model of the gray prediction theorymodel(1,1) and three exponential smoothing method, improve the forecast accuracy. In benefit analysis: researches from two aspects of economic and environmentalbenefits, for the economic benefits, through calculating the cost, obtains results of theadvantage scope for improving economic benefits, and the study of environmentalbenefits mainly reflects in the energy consumption and carbon emissions calculation. The quantitative analysis of the two parts above point out the necessity of speeding upthe development for container sea-rail intermodal transport in Qingdao Port.
