With the growing demands in green energy, entertaining, intelligence, safety andcomfort of modern cars, the vehicle electronic systems are becoming increasingly complex.However, there are a mass of vehicle electronics and instruments which are installedseparately. These equipments are taking large space, having low accuracy and poorreadability. It’s inconvenient for drivers and brings hidden danger.To solve the above problems, we carry out researching basing on vehiclemultifunction GUI with taking S3C2440A whose core is ARM920T as the control centerand using7-inch TFT-LCD of QunChuang as the touch screen.Depending on Linux2.6.34and QT4.6, we managed to make a front-screen-display system which is integrated with themain function of displaying the vehicle travel information, the electronic maps and thein-car multimedia and other functions. We finished the design of software and hardware ofthe system and completed the prototype’s manufacture and the experiment. Our study ismainly to realize the following key technologies: the Design and implementation of thehardware based on ARM920T processor and the vehicle-mounted multifunction frontscreen; the transplant of Linux2.6.34and Qt4.6in S3C2440A processor; the design andimplementation of the software based on Qt4.6; the Optimal design of the vehiclemulti-function front screen system for quick start.Finally, we made experiments for collecting information of vehicle, playing videosand displaying electronic maps on a prototype of the system.The experimental results showthat the front screen system can graphically display the vehicle parameters, such as speedand mileage, engine speed, fuel, water temperature, turn signals, instructions and the dateand time in real time and can also realize the display of the electronic map in MapInfoformat and the play of the most media files. It has the advantages of user-friendly, sensitiveresponse, small volume, low cost and strong expansibility which achieves the goal of thissubject. At the same time, the system also makes full preparations for the access vehicleelectronic system by reserving the CAN, USB, IIS, SPI and RS-232interfaces, which laysthe foundation for the next vehicle field test and the product development.
