| With the economic development and technological progress, the smart grid has beenconsidered to be the future direction of development of the power system. The smart gridcovers all aspects of the power system such as the generation, transmission, distribution,consumption etc. An advanced and efficient power distribution automation system is anindispensable factor of the smart grid, and variety functions of power distribution automationsystem such as scheduling control, equipment management, fault protection are on the basisof communication system, which transfers information and command for the powerdistribution automation system. Therefore, the research of the power distributionautomation system communication system has great significance for development of smartgrid.The power distribution automation system could be divided into the backbone layer,access layer and terminal layer. For service security and investment economic considerations,the power distribution automation system’s backbone layer communication mainly dependson the optical transmission network. Currently there are many types of communicationtechnology used in the access level, such as optical fiber communication, medium voltagepower line communication, wireless public network communication and wireless privatenetwork communication. They have their own advantages and disadvantages, relativelyspeaking, to meet the same service needs, communication system which based on wirelessprivate network technology has good flexibility and a higher cost-effective.This paper introduces the structure and function of the distribution automation systemfirst, then analyze its requirement for communication system,and research somecommunications technologies by comparing their communication fundamentals, technicalfeatures, networking and performance. On this basis of specific applications for distributionautomation system and expected future developments,this paper designed a communicationnetwork program for distribution automation system which combines optical fibercommunication and wireless private network. This paper has done some research onwireless private network’s application to power distribution automation system. By programtesting and analysis, this paper has verified the rationality and feasibility of the this program,and confirmed its theoretical and practical significance. |
