With the rapid development of infrared imaging technology, infrared zoom optical system demand is on the rise. The continuous zoom system has an advantage of keeping uninterrupted image in the field of the transformation process, and the target image is still clearly visible, which will not be lost in the process of changing rate, the optimal choice of modern observing systems to solve large field of view with a small field switching. In the day-to-day production of practical activities, observation of objects are not only want to be seen and want to be seen clearly. While the traditional fixed-focus lens system can supply traditional single focal length and field of view, can not guarantee the image quality in the case of the expansion of the search range. To solve this problem, Continuous zoom optical lens emerges as the times required.In this paper, we design a compact continuous zoom infrared lens. firstly, through the research and design of the lens, the system of learning from the evaluation and analysis of basic theory, the lens design method, which provides a total design for zoom lens. Then according to the continuous zoom infrared lens design process, through the software analysis, we optimize the product. As for selection of the motor in the product design process of the continuous zoom lens, The motion simulation advantage of ADAMS are used, comparing the simulation results with the design theory results, we select the appropriate motor drive. Through thermal analysis of the lens of analysis software, the thermal deformation of the lens optical system on design check, we improve the imaging effect of optical system at different temperatures. Finally, the surface of controllable lens assembly process is studied, which provides a theoretical guidance for the future study with the same product, also can promote the improvement of imaging quality of the lens system.Analysis of products through the lens, lens design and production verification of image quality, meeting customer requirements on the use of the lens. We’ll design simple structure, good performance, suitable for the ability of the infrared continuous zoom optical lens machine, and hope that the company’s products will win market competitiveness in the similar products in the future.
