How to deal with this kind of phenomenon, how to improve the urban ecological, production and living environment have become the once glorious because of local natural mineral resources city is the most headache problem.This paper focus on the positive transformation of resource-based city transformation in our country, under the big background, for the green development of the national coal big province, one of Shanxi Province nothing behind, positive response national policy, the provincial capital of Taiyuan is played, the slogan of "green city" for the transition to green, livable city in Shanxi Province has set up a flag. Therefore, the author selected the Taiyuan Xishan mining area as the research object. Xishan mining area in the past few decades, due to excessive development of coal, to the local ecological environment has brought no small burden, some areas even seriously affect the survival and life of local residents. So choose the region as the research object, its transformation characteristics is sharp, and more representative. And the author thinks that it has many successful cases in terms of livability construction is worthy of reference for other resource-based cities, learning.In order to make this case more enrichment, the author selected the cities at home and abroad by comparison, learns the successful experience in constructing the habitable, with the transformation of Xishan mining area in many aspects of comparison. In order to make the comparison results more helps, I specifically chose a few in the field environment, industrial structure and transformation of the sense of urgency and similar to that of Xishan mining area of the city by the line analysis, including the transition more successful Ruhr in Germany and Daqing city in our country. After comparison, the author is also trying to consider whether can use in the transformation of Xishan mining area, Xishan mining area for the future of the livable construction provides some shallow views.In transition in the process of transformation, extremely pays great attention to the mining area construction of livability.
