The green brick stacker crane is an important mechanical equipment in the process of fly-ash brick production, which completes the working operation of gripping, handling, stacking of green brick and so on. Stacking is mainly green brick lined up on the tray through the stacker, the brick pile on the tray will be sent to curing chamber to be maintained while stacking is to a certain height, maintenance of stacking is necessary for production process and play a key role for good brick quality.The core parts of stacker crane is clamping device, which contacts with green brick and depends on the friction to overcome gravity that enhances the green brick for stacking. The existing brick pile is neat and tight, however, due to the mutation of velocity and the uneven guide rail, the upper side green bricks often fall off, it not only limits the layers of the brick pile but also damages green brick. Because the existing clamping device of stacker crane is rigid structure, it damages easily the edges of green brick in the process of clamping, then causes the damage of product. Therefore, the brick pile for stationarity and reliabilty puts forward higher requirements during the transportation of the brick pile puted into curing chamber.The pneumatic diaphragm type stacker clamping device is designed so that the whole transport of clamps can keep stable, reliable under the condition of velocity mutation. Clamping device is improved by using pneumatic diaphragm which replaces the original contact institution. It makes flexible contact clamping with the brick and avoids the breakage of the green brick edges. The plywood in the middle of device adopts activity structure. Brick layers of the interval can produce a corner to make the staggered effect between layer and layer by adding a transverse moving mechanism (a small stroke cylinder). Each green block is pressured in the upper of two pieces of bricks, limiting the freedom of movement. It not only can improve the stability of the the brick pile in the transport process but also increases stacking layer and improves the working efficiency.In this paper, clamping device structure of the existing stacker crane is described in detail and the pneumatic diaphragm type stacker clamping device is desgined. The pneumatic diaphragm inflation pressure and contact state are analysed using the Ansys software, deformation condition of the pneumatic diaphragm in the aerated state and stress condition of the pneumatic diaphragm in the contact state, as well as the relationship between inflation pressure and contact area are confirmed. The analysis shows that the staggered brick pile can keep good stability under the condition of velocity mutation, and the stacking layer has greatly increased. Based on the theoretical analysis, the experimental device is designed, and feasibility of the structure has been verified. The test results show that the improved pneumatic diaphragm clamping device can achieve the desired effect, and provides the experimental basis for further improvement.
