Qingdao is a city of special significance in modern history of China. It is not only because of its colonial history, but also because of its construction, which include the buildings themselves and the interior space. Architecture and interior style are led by modern design thought and historical background. Compared to other design trends, what was left in the17years of the Grerman occupation of Qingdao is splendid.Germany Rent Qingdao for a period of99years, and they subverted the traditional urban planning and construction. During which, a variety of architecture and interior styles popular in Western countries, particularly Germany, were introduced to here. A strong impact was caused, resulting in a great change in traditional Chinese architecture and interior culture. Dwellings in Qingdao were taken as the examples to be analyzed in this paper. While for the main styles introduced in this city, such as, retro trend, eclectic style and youth style, we took the classic germany architecture as the case study. But not after a long time, the rich chinese traditional culture Confucius and Mencius in Qingdao spreaded again quietly but firmly. The German-style architecture and interior design began to blend into Chinese culture, and changed subtly. Through analyzing the details of the buildings, we found the uniqueness in the formation of Qingdao architecture and interior design. After the German occupation, Qingdao has experienced the reign of the National Government and other twice occupation by Japan. But its architecture and interior design features stayed the same with the German, which bring Qingdao the painting of red roofs, green trees, blue sea and white clouds. With the developing of globalization and permeating of the national culture, the European-style in Qingdao has been sinicized. Preservation for the old German classic construction provides designers with examples they can learn from to avoid the monotony of modern architecture and interior design, and to build regional specialties. All in all, what we tried to realize was the synchronization of interior design and architecture, and an excellent Chinese and Western culture integration.
