Study Of A System To Evaluate Health Status Of Highway Concrete Bridge

As the hinge of traffic, the safety of bridge is the key to keep the traffic moving.Within operation period, such matters as natural disasters, traffic accidents, perishingand overloading contribute to the aging of bridge, which influences its safe use. Forthe bridge in service, to make its life longer and reduce or even avoid the trafficaccidents, sound judgment of its actual working situation as well as effectivemeasures to eliminate potential safety hazard will help.In view of the structural features of the concrete highway bridges, the writer triesto study from the following aspects:(1) Systematic analysis of the common diseases and their causes within theoperation of the concrete highway bridges.(2) According to Standards for Technical Condition Evaluation of Highway Bridges,the technical condition is evaluated by stratified comprehensive evaluation. Thedifferent problems serve as the basic indicators. Then an evaluation model of thebridge can be built based on the grading of different structural members.(3) According to standard of Inspection and Evaluation of Load-bearing Capacityof Highway Bridges, the load-bearing capacity on the basis of the structurechecking method can be evaluated. First, there is an evaluation of the bridge’smaterial qualities and state parameters, which is succeeded by quantitativetechnical parameters. Second, based on the correction for the original design dataof bridge structure and the newly-generated resistance effect and loading effect,another bridge load-bearing capacity evaluation system can be set up.(4) Based on the technical condition and load-bearing capacity evaluation systemof the bridge, a working evaluation system can be established. Then, on the basis ofthe input of the checking data of the different indicators of bridge, the grade of thetechnical state and load-bearing capacity can be obtained by the evaluation of thevarious indicators.The working evaluation system of bridge is an information file built on ACCESSdatabase at first. Then it is realized by the use of the programming of thevisualization of Visual Basic6.0Software. This study can provide a convenient andpractical operating platform for the working evaluation and information storage management of bridge, which is a stimulus to the modernization andinformationization of bridge management.
