Tires play a huge function in vehicle as the only connection between the vehicleand the ground and ensure that give a full play to the performance of the vehicle.Because tires are rubber products and rubber has elastic hysteresis phenomenon, slipis an inherent attribute of tire. This phenomenon influences many tractors’performance, such as fuel efficiency, traction performance and etc. The excessiveslip also has a big impact on the stability of tractor’s manipulation.This paper mainly does the following works:1. It analyzes the tire force on hard road and soft road, discusses the drivingforce and rolling resistance of tire and illustrates the three motion states of tires withmechanics perspectives;2. It discusses tire adhesion performance on hard road and soft road, analyzesthe method of calculating the driving force(traction) according to the tire slip ratesituation;3. It analyzes vehicle traction performance’s evaluation indicators and influencefactors and discusses the measures of improving the performance of tractor traction;4. It analyzes the tractor traction, slip test method and puts forward the methodused in this paper. On the basis of the method in this test was discussed5. The tractor traction, slip test experiment is carried out. It analyzes the resultsand studies the correlation of slip rate with the traction.
