With the development of monitoring system in highway tunnel in our country, thedemands of the judgment speed and guiding cars timely when events occur. There are someproblems in traditional detection methods, and in program of tunnel traffic guidance andcontrol, which make a significant personal and property safety hazard. In this thesis, in orderto overcome the inadequacies of traditional direct and indirect detection, this paper presentscomprehensive detection method combining with their respective advantages of direct andindirect methods. When detecting an event occurs, the paper also presents a better programthan traditional traffic guidance proposed control strategy in order to guide traffic better andreduce traffic loss and casualties.Firstly, the paper introduces the the theory of traffic flow, including environmentalcharacteristics of tunnel traffic, driving characteristics of the vehicle, the basic parameters oftraffic flow and the basic relationship between traffic flow parameters.Secondly, the paper introduces the indirect detection algorithm with fuzzy clustering, andrespectively design calculation methods for membership degree and cluster center of normaltraffic and congestion, which are utilized in the judgment of the state of highway tunnel traffic.In the direct detection method, the paper introduces ROI video detection algorithm to get thetraffic flow data.Thirdly, the indirect detection method can not accurately detect the traffic flow whenthere is a small flow, and direct detection method can not accurately detect the traffic flowwhen there is a large flow. So this paper presents integrated detection method based on thecombination of direct detection and indirect detection methods. Meanwhile, the paper alsopresents the algorithms of placement pitch in indirect detection method and integratedplacement pitch. Finally, as the traditional traffic control design lacks guidance controlstrategy for two-events, this paper presents guidance and control programs under four trafficconditions (normal, congestion/obstruction, a single point of the accident, two o’clockaccident) of a3000long tunnel, which improves traditional control strategy and supplyguidance program of two-events.
