Train communication network is critical to protect the train control and networkcommunication technology, is responsible for the collection and transmission of informationin the entire train, and real-time control and monitoring of the state of the vehicle equipment.Train communication network is constituted by WTB and MVB; they are responsible for thetransmission of the train level and vehicle level information respectively. With the growingnumber of video-on-demand and on-line video surveillance business, require higher networkbandwidth, the WTB and MVB buses are not suitable for transferring these large-capacityinformation due to the relatively low transfer rate. With the rapid development of Ethernettechnology, Ethernet technology has been widely used in the field of industrial control. Atpresent it has also been applied to the train communication network, but due to the complexityof the train operating environment and the uncertainty of the Ethernet communication,Ethernet in order to fully enter the field of train control, or even replace the existing train bus,many problems still need to be resolved.In consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of the train bus and Ethernet, thisarticle proposed to combine both of them to form a combination of train communicationnetwork by Ethernet and WTB, so they not only satisfy the requirements of a network ofhigh-bandwidth, but also make up the inadequate the uncertainty of Ethernet communication.Firstly, a detailed analysis of the WTB and Ethernet two heterogeneous networks, includingWTB bus topology, link control, real-time protocol and the Ethernet link control, the workingprinciple and the frame structure, etc., and according to international standard OSIcommunication principle, come the feasibility of WTB and Ethernet connection, proposedWTB and Ethernet gateway structure model. In addition, this paper given the specificimplementations of the gateway hardware and gateway software design and brief analysis onthe various modules; then there is a detailed analysis of the inauguration of the gatewaymodule. Finally, testing and checking the gateway communication, and simulation to theoperation of train inauguration.
