The asphalt paver,as a special-purpose machinery for paving asphalt pavement,plays akey role in the construction of high-grade highway,its paving speed directly influences thesmoothness,compactness and dissociation of pavement. The driving control system,as thecore of asphalt paver,not only needs to achieve driving control,but also plays an importantrole for improving the driving performance,the degree of automation and the quality ofpavement construction. Therefore,it makes great realistic sense to study and design drivingcontrol system.This paper mainly analyzes the research situation and bottlenecks of driving controlsystem of asphalt paver,and puts forward a set of effective driving control scheme. Based onTI company’s DSP TMS320LF2407A,the hardware part of the driving control system isintroduced. It focuses on DSP minimum system,pump-motor control circuit,velocity measurecircuit,human-computer interaction interface and E2PROM memory and so on. For software,according to driving control scheme and constant speed requirements,the fuzzy adaptive PIDcontrol algorithm is adopted,and the fuzzy adaptive PID controller is designed.At the sametime,the mathematical model of the driving control system is built,and the dynamicsimulation analysis and verification has been achieved by using Matlab/Simulink;At last,CAN Bus communication system is introduced,communication scheme of the driving controlsystem based on CAN Bus is presented,hardware and software parts of the CAN intelligentnode are designed detailedly, and the writing of the application layer protocol is wellillustrated how CAN nodes communicate with each. In order to find and deal with thecommunication failures timely for the operator,and to realize the real-time monitoring of thepaver running state,this paper designs the condition monitoring based on Labview,andmakes a brief description of CAN-USB data transfer. The application of CAN Bus in thepaver well solves the flaws of complex wiring of traditional control system,simplex wirefunction,low reliability,poor real-time and so on,meanwhile,it can realize resources sharingbetween each subsystem,and diagnose system faults with high maintainability.
